We may be relocating to the Houston area. Hoping for some advice. Office is in Pasadena so we are looking at places such as Pearland. Good schools are paramount as the kiddo's are 8 and 5.

Also, boating. I plan on installing a closed cooling system on both engines. My question is on Marina's and beaches. I read the Clear Lake thread and it sounded like it is good for cruising but not much else. We like to drop the hook and swim, ride the Sea Doo and tube. Any advice on where / Marina to keep the boat.

Thanks and here is to a great boating season!!

Hi Phil,

Clear Lake is ok, not too good for deep or clear water though.
For Marina's you could start with South Shore Harbor, it's probably the nicest in the clear lake area.

For areas to live, you'll want to look at Friendswood, Pearland, League City areas.

Welcome to the Houston are Phil,

Unfortunately I won’t be much help as I am up on the north side of town (The Woodlands) and have always gone to the lakes up here (Lake Houston. Lake Livingston, and Lake Conroe).

I hope everything works out well and in time you can give me tips on great boating locations on the south side of town.
