Calling all 360 DA owners

I got down to the boat the today to take a picture of my transducers and it looks like I actually have 3. I haven’t traced the wires but the one on the port side looks like the newer one which must have been the one my marina installed for me last year. The one on the STBD side looks similar but has a different cable so not sure if that was connected to the old Raymarine or Smartcraft but I’m guessing that the one in the center is probably the Smartcraft.
I hope this helps.

Rob….thank you. I have 1 transducer (right in the middle like yours)connected to my Smartcraft, which shows depth and water temp. I emailed SeaRay and they sent me a drawing for spots for another transducer, but the one already installed in the boat is not in one of the spots on the drawing. I’m adding a 2nd transducer and adding a Simrad chart plotter.

No problem. Sorry it took so long.

Trips-

I think you are right, I only have one transducer which is hooked up to my Smartcraft and it positioned center bilge the same as your picture.

Does anyone know if the manifolds on the 8.1s engines contain raw water flow and antifreeze or just raw water. I have antifreeze in one cylinder but compression is good so I'm not convinced its a head gasket. Thanks- John

Thanks Mig22. I thought so, just wanted to be sure so I can verify what the mechanic says.

Thinking about upgrading to AGM group 31 batteries. Not sure if the battery charger is capable of charging the AGM batteries; has anyone done this upgrade?

Sorry for late response, but have been cruising around for a month.
Have been using AGM'S for 10 years. Has been a great addition for power while at anchor. Also installed a "ProNautic 12-40p" charger in 2019. The current AGM'S were from Sam's Club. Best deal at the time!

I went to AGM’s this about 5 weeks ago. My boat has the pro nautic 12-30 charger. Very happy so far with the upgrade

The 360, for me was a great combination of beam and length. Big boat but maneuverable, that yanmar option had to be a pricy upgrade.

I didn’t see any 360’s with diesels when shopping 2 years ago but that would have been preference. It’s been a great boat for us so far.

I have seem maybe 2 360 in Florida while cruising but both were gas

I love my yanmars ! beast of engines ! I m coming up to 1200hrs on mine

Just over 2100 on these beauties! Love'em and the 8kw Kohler is good to!

great to hear !

I m in the process of upgrading muffler system of the generator (which is too loud to my taste) and adding close to 100lbs on sound insulation to further reduce noise ! I will post pictures upon completion !

Will like to see and hear about this upgrade! What genny do you have? Our Kohler has 1300 hrs.
Keep us posted.

I also have the Kohler 8oEZ with no sound proofing box. about 2000hrs on it and have gone thru a major tune up( new pump, new PCB card, new fuel pump, fuel filter assy, multiple pressure switch, .....)

I m replacing the gene muffler per the recommendation from centek with a larger & taller 2 X 2 Vernalift Dual Stage 8 X 12 PN 1529001which will reduce the noise by 10 decibels and adding a secondary muffler 2” In/Out Vernatone - PN 1000281 which will decrease a an other 3-4 decibels - this mod will bring 13/14 decibel reduction in noise !

I also purchase a massive amount of sound proofing sheets from defender to line the engine room walls and side cavity which acts currently as a giant bass (this will be winter project as it will require extensive labor and the removal of the exhaust...) the MFG is stating that installed it should reduce at least 19 decibels ! this stuff looks great ! about 17lbs per sheet - Soundown Sound-Stop Foam Panel with 1lb Barrier Layer - 2"

When I took sound measurements in the cockpit, cabin, swim platform and by the air intake by the gene the decibels ranged from 66,57,68 & 75 decibels

I m hoping to that overhaul will be able to go below the 40decibels mark which will represent the noise of a refrigerator working.

if all the above does not reduce the decibels and vibration I may further look into adding a sound proof box from
www.stopthesound.com I was quoted $1800 for the kit, which I would assume would bring me below the 30 decibels

the big question is how to reduce the vibration inside the rear seating
I did noticed that the fuel tank is acting like a giant bass box as its located right in front of the generator and end inside the first overhead closet in the rear seating area. we will see if the additional sound insulation will change something otherwise will be back to the drawing board !

Does any one have any suggestions ?

Sounds like an interesting project. Look forward to your updates.

I had to pivot the genny 90 degrees to get at the negative wire and move it to a better location as it lost good connection. For a unit this size, it will slide around fairly easily.
