Calling all 360 DA owners

@Phasma thanks for the info. Marina had the duckbills but not the bellows. Going to order online and wait until I have all the parts so I only do it once. Looks like the hardest part will be getting the mounting bolt off that is behind the pump to the stern. Being 6’ 4” makes everything in the engine compartment a challenge for me. Just exercised the engine and generator seacocks and had to lay on my stomach in the bilge between the engines. Not fun...
I feel ya TeamBeach. 6’2” 220 pounds really isn't designed for engine bays. I somehow manage. Socket extension worked well for me removing the pump. +1 for surgical gloves as mentioned above. It wasn’t very messy. A little bit but not much. Stinky more than anything. Be sure to check for vacuum leaks once reassembled. Good luck with another day in a boat owners life

I received a request how I changed out the dash switch panel. Too long of an explanation for a message so I am posting it here

My burlwood panel was cracked so I decided to replace it and all of the switches. I ordered the burlwood Panel and switches from fpmarine.com. The switches just click into the openings on the burlwood. You have to make sure you order the correct types of switches. Single pull double throw, temporary duty, double pull double throw etc. You can verify if you have the right switches by the way in which each one actuates. You can double verify by making sure each new switch has the same number of contacts on the back. I then took many many photos of the existing switches, wire colors and placement of connectors. The harness is cable tied. Do not cut the cable ties unless you absolutely have to. Remove the connectors from the back of the switches as few at a time as possible with a pair of needle nose pliers. Place the new board and new switches in close proximity and transfer connections once again as few as possible. Take your time and you will get it right. Reference your photos frequently.

There are also 2 light strips that are mounted with foil tape. Carefully peel the foil tape. You will see the strip lights that light the names of the switches at night. I remounted with new foil tape I bought at Autozone

if you only need to replace switches. The switches have plastic tabs top and bottom. Depress the tabs and the old switch will slide out. After removing one at a time simply click the New switch into place. I think it was a three beer project so not too bad

We are getting ready to ship our 360 from Panama City Beach to Jacksonville. For those that have shipped, any prep you recommend? We plan to pull everything off the arch, pull the props & anchor, any cushions that are removable will be placed in the cabin. We are unsure yet on shrink wrap or not.

Just wondering why you don't cruise to Jackonville?

I shipped mine across the state about 5 years ago. The arch was cleared and cushions pulled. No shrink wrap. All was well

Lack of experience with a long trip is the main reason. We bought our boat just before Hurricane Michael hit. With damage to most marinas around us, and repairs on our home we didn’t get to use the boat much. Now we have gotten lots of use, but all day trips, probably haven’t been more than 20 miles from our marina. We figure going by water will take a week to 10 days. While is sounds like it could be fun, we just aren’t ready to make that jump yet.

The begining of that trip for you, going from the Carrabelle area to the Tarpon Springs area, was the tuffest and longest portion of the Great Loop. About 190 miles of 3 to 5 foots and tons of crab pots when getting near Tarpon. After that it would be very a enjoyable trip.
Hopefully some day you will do it.

Did you complete the loop on your 360? With the Yanmar's it's completely feasible. I can't imagine doing with 8.1 gassers.

Hello Dave,
Yes we did the loop with the 360. I have been asked that question before so I changed my info on the bottom of the "Profile Page", but it hasn't shown up yet for some reason. In fact we traded our 290 with twin 4.3's, which I loved that boat, to do the loop. There isn't much gas available on the Mississippi river near the lower Ohio river. So that was a challenge for the boat we traveled with that had twin 454's! The Yanmar's are sweet motors. I think over the 10 years that we have owned her, I have had a normal amount of repair and maintenance issues over that time. I don't about all Yanmar models, but these are Toyota truck blocks.
Sorry to be so long winded, but I love this boat as much as our 290. Would never go back to gasers.

That is AWESOME! The loop is on the short list of my bucket list, but it will not be happening on my 360. The 360 w/ 8.1s is perfect for where I boat (lower to mid Chesapeake Bay), but getting beyond the Bay Bridge (not Bay Bridge Tunnel) is a big undertaking with lots of gasoline! The 360 layout is perfect for my wife and I although we bought it with our two boys in mind (The aft berth is bigger than 6' and so is the converted settee.), they've only gone on one overnighter.

Now my wife is thinking "entertainment" and feels the need for a bridge boat.

It's doable with bridge boat depending on water levels during the trip.
Not sure how much our friends spent on gas, but I'm sure it was more than us with the diesels.
After going through the C & D canal, we said if we ever got back to the Chesapeake area, it would need a few mouths to explore. We had a blast up in your neck of the woods! Still on the to do again list.
For us, this is the perfect size boat all things considered, especially draft and air height. Mostly the two of us with our grandson once in a while.
Keep the Loop dream alive!

Interesting to have this boat with diesels.... I know there is/was one near us with Yanmars.... also, when we bought our gasser in Clayton, NY, there was another 360 with Volvo’s!
Any guesses how many boats were optioned with diesels? While we’re at it, how many 360s were produced?

Great questions! I have no idea but someone in this Club will know.
The 360 is on the small side for diesels, but after 10 years, I'm happy.

Winterized completed yesterday. Made a bypass hose for hot water heater yesterday. Drained water heater but it did not flow into the engine compartment. Drain to engine compartment must be plugged. There is a drain hole port in the area?

Joined CSR when looking for our first boat - so many helpful replies to my questions. Thanks again everyone!

Since then, we've been loving our 2002 360 DA...and glad to be a part of this resource!

Take care.

I'm interested in knowing how many 360 DA owners are on CSR, in case I want to direct questions your way using PMs. I am aware of Two Peas, PMvdb395DA (Peter), My3Sons and BOZ. Any others? Is there enough of us for an "official 360 thread"?
2005 360 DA here!! Call me Beth

Looking for opinions specific to the 360...have had the boat for 7 years and am somewhat embarrassed to ask, but what type of battery setups are being used?? Our boat is primarily used for day trips...I have thought that the cranking batteries would suffice, with either shore power or generator for charging, but what are implications for deep cycle for house batteries?? Can they be used for starting with no implications or should we look at the hybrid types?
I have also been reading the copious threads on this topic...this forum is a trove of info.
