I've seen at alot of good CSR boating pics. While we do take alot of pics we have few that actually show our own boat. I told my wife about the CSR calendar and she felt it would be neat to submit some. I had this grand idea to get some good pics from shore. SomeTodd quality pics would be nice. Man, if his camera went off by accident he'd still have a photo for a magizine cover. So we hiked up to a high area to see what it would look like from up there. I've been wanting to do that anyway. The hike took us about 3hrs for the round trip.
This is on the south side of the Keweenaw Penninsula of MI. The actual location is about 60mi by water from our slip. We boat this area often and like to go to a small bay near the tip. Rarely is it good for anchoring out as its exposed to most winds. Even the north winds go up over or around and mess you up. As a rule seas are the largest and most confused around the tip and you need to remember that if your going around it.
My wife agreed it would make for some good boat pics but she informed me there was no way in hell that she would hike back up there to take them. Especially by herself. So I guess she doesn't love me as much as I thought. The one pic is looking east and you can see the penninsula tip....about 8 miles away. So here are two boating pics that don't have a darn boat in them. I tried.
