Hi

Regarding Sea Ray 270 DA 1998

Is it right that the battery cables to the windlass goes on the port side?, behind the mirror in midcabin?

I do not have a windlass but want to place cables on port instead of go around the whole boat on the star side.

Is it possible?

Kind regards
Micke

Since you're adding the windlass, you can really do it anyway you want. But I can tell you, if it's anything like my 260DA was, that removing the mirror (if you can't fish behind it), will require disassembling quite a bit of the interior. I ran the windlass wires up the starboard side, getting my initial feed from the battery switch which was on the starboard side of my boat. There was no need for me to go all the way to the batteries, which are on the port side. Running the wires up the starboard side was actually quite easy.

But, if you want to see how Sea Ray did it, check your manual as it will have wire/cable routing diagrams. Keep in mind, though, that Sea Ray had it pretty easy as they did it before the deck and the hull were joined. Sometimes it makes sense to do it a different way after the boat is together.
