I read thru the Forums about where to get new keys but how do I find out what Key Code I need?

    Thanks,

    Todd

Should be on the key itself.

I know they have them in stock at Erwin Marine in Chattanooga, TN.

Give them a buzz and I bet they can mail one to you.

My question is What Key CODE do I need? The Parts Manual Lists 9 different Codes.

Oh. Might need to snag your hull number and give SeaRay a call or a good SeaRay parts source a call.

Does there happen to be a 3 digit number inside the cabin on the door latch itself?

I didn't see any, I guess I'll just order some and hope for the best, under 10 bucks. I had to get keys for my Maxum and there was a code on the lock but I can't find one on this.

I order two keys on line and then took them to a local locksmith to have them cut only to find out that he had blank’s Lol

I guess the key you had was not an original since it did not have a number on it.

The Mobella keys are pre-cut and the code indicates the cut. That is the way it is on my 97 DA and most of the era. If you are looking for a Mobella key blank, not pre-cut, you can buy them on line from locksmiths.

By the way, Sea Ray Parts (aka Flounder Pounder) sells pre-cut keys:

Or buy a blank tell you they work not even cut. Haha

Or buy a full set of keys, walk the docks and find yourself a new Sea Ray that you like! (lots of people leave the ignition keys on the boat -- Not me, by the way.)

You know car manufacturers now have push button to start and the doors automatically open. You just have to have the key fob in your pocket. Come on Boat manufactures. Get onboard!

I have seen a 330 Sundance’s that has a key pad to start the motors...

They really do, inexplicably. But, in all the years on CSR I have not heard of a boat being taken from a marina. (I am certain before bedtime there will be three examples of what I missed.) LOL

A 1998 should be 800 series key - key #818 opens nearly any 800 series lock - just FYI
