I have a 2006 Sea Ray Sun Dancer 280. The front Cabin mirror has cracked during transportation. I am having a new one sent out, does anybody know how to take the cracked mirror off and install the new one? Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks and happy boating season

You will probably have to remove the forward panel that surrounds or "frames in" the mirror. I am not exactly sure what all you will need to remove to get that off. I am fairly certain you will need to remove the Port and Starboard cabinet/shelves that are mounted above each side of the V-berth cushions. There are 4 screws as I recall, two against each cabinet and two that screw in to the forward panel you are trying to remove. To get to the panel screws, you will need to remove the speakers from the cabinet. The screws are behind the speakers. Speakers are a pain to get off. You have to turn the grill clockwise to get off as I recall. There is barely enough room to grip it. It was a real pain when I did it. I have to remove the Port side shelf to get to the wiring once.

Any other tips here?

I had to replace mine on my 260DA and it was very easy. I just went to the Boat Trader website and looked at an '06 280DA and looks to me like Jason is right down the line. Yours is going to be a pain. All I had to do was remove 2-screws from the top piece of molding and loosen the bottom molding. In my case, I had to do it twice. First time I tightened the bottom molding too tight and cracked it again.

You will certainly have to remove the "frame" around it .

I just came across your post. I am looking to replace the forward mirror on my 2006 280da and trying to find where you purchased the mirror at or did you cut it yourself?
