I am looking how to remove the cabin door for a major roller repair needed. I understand
Removal or at least tilting back the Helm is needed,,
My boat is a 98 Sundancer and the top rail is disconnected and stuck back under the helm and the lower rail is also disconnected, So literally have to lift the door to open the cabin door. thanks for any idea how to proceed
Thanks all

So, since this Seams to be a new issue on my 98da. ( I only come up with the 38 ft which apparently had a plastic roller)
Is there some way to get a diagram of the attachment points for the helm?

I've only heard of this repair and seen some youtube videos of how folks gained access.

It's not a very easy job by the looks of it.

If you remove your gauges I think you can get to that upper track.

Might need a right angled screwdriver or nut driver with screw driver tips to get in there.

I do see the screws behind the gauges to get to the upper Helm. there's got to be more... besides removing the glass support and cutting the caulking. looks like I'll need to tip the Helm forward to get to the upper track. Would love to see a diagram on how the entire helm gets secured before I begin. Thanks

Cabin door removal information??
for my 98 DA is pretty much nowhere to be found.
will be attempting soon. can't find anything useful. No diagrams?

If there's nothing in your parts manual, I'm not sure if there's anything commonly available.

Ideas... If you haven't seem it yet, you're looking for (usually) grey, PVC angles. Look on the floor - on the inside of the helm - about where your toes would stub into the helm. Look up underneath about where the compass is. Look along both inside edges of the helm (I don't "think" there's any on the inboard edge). But that's about it - other than being bulky - and maybe needing to remove the side windshield - it's really pretty straight forward.
