I recently put a deposit down on a boat that is registered in canada.... does anyone know how I can get a title in MI so I can have my bank put a lien on it.... Also I read that to bring it into the US all I need is a bill of sale and call the boarder patrol agents... Is this true????

And pay border tax. I think it's 1%. Easier than you think.

I bet if you call your local Michigan boat registration office they would help. The seller should have a title to his boat, unless it is financed, at which point the bank would have it. There are also private titling services you can hire to do this for you.
