Does anyone know a good buyers broker in the Carolinas? I know: it doesn't really matter where the broker is located but I'm old school and would actually like to talk to him/her face-2-face about what i'm looking for, financials etc.

Also: do you guys recommend using a buyers broker (for buying a 40")? or does that take away some bargaining room on the selling brokers end?

When we bought our 44DB, we used the selling broker for everything. He got all of the commission and did a great job all of the way around. He stayed in touch almost daily during the process. After closing, he moved the boat to marina for haul out and kept up the communication as work I was having done was progressing. He was present at the loading for transport also. I was upfront and direct about expectations and he rose to every occasion. I doubt all are like him, but I see no need for a buyer’s broker. Just my $0.02...

I used the seller's broker when I bought my 310. She was helpful, professional and ethical. I think the key is that they belong to a broker's organization that publishes and enforces ethical standards as a requirement for membership.

I think a buyers broker can be useful and if they are good then they earn their keep. The issue is finding one who is a good fit for you. I know a great one but he’s in Texas. A semi retired guy who only represents buyers and does 3-4 boats per year. Pm me if you want his info.

Contact Captian Keith Mackey he owns cc yacht delivery and also works as a buyers agent or broker. You will need to read his site to know the difference. I have used him as an agent for two boats and have saved money and time as well as learned a lot from him.
