This unit stopped cooling a few weeks ago. The fan runs and there is no error message but it does not cool. I opened up the control board area and found the white wire that is supposed to attach to the Silver capacitor on the board melted to the point that it completely disconnected from the board. The boat is a 2000, looks like the Capacitor was made in 1999 and there is a sticker on the unit that says the control board was replaced in 2016. Can anyone tell me what might have caused the wire to melt? Cap failure? Can I just replace the capacitor and reterminate the wire? It's a bit tough to see in the pics below, but the white wire is completely disconnected and you can see where it has melted onto and around the orange wire.

replace the cap it's likely bad
clean and re-terminate the wires.
If the wires are corroded you may need to trim them back a ways and splice in a bit more.
