Just noticed last night that a light under my swim platform is dead. These are the kind that look like round car headlights. They are the stock ones that come with the boat.

Any thoughts on doing the replacement? Is this a sealed one piece unit or is there a replaceable bulb in there? Can I do this in the water. When on calm water they are position just an inch or so above the water line.

I would replace them with LED strip lights. They give off a much brighter light, and will last damn near forever. Sounds like they aren't in a easily servicable location!!

I believe they're Barnegat lights- do a search there's been a discussion recently about the replacement lights not matching the mounting holes or sizes of the OEM's.

Found it. Thanks. Had no idea what they were called. Now I need to decide if I should replace them with the LED version that are in a similar housing . . .. Also, assuming water intrusion I'm going to be pressing the dealer for a warranty replacement.

I did mine in the water. Could only use 2 screw holes. The original (last year) was slightly oval. The new one was round. I filled the other 4. I'll remedy the rest next time we pull the boat. You can't replace the bulb. The put the bulb in with the wires, then fill the housing with rubbery sealant, then seal the back of the plastic cover on. I think they leak when teenagers with electric drills and electric screw drivers tighten them with reckless abandom. I'm sure it pulls the housing away from the rubber sealant allowing water to seep in.
