Hi all,

My 220DA is in overall great condition for a boat from 1990 but the instrument panel is a little sad looking with flickering needles on the dials and sort of working buttons and switches.

How much do you reckon it would cost to either buy all the bits and bobs and replace it all myself or even get someone to do it? Also, has anyone replaced the throttle level for something better looking?

Any advice is appreciated.

Dash rebuilds can be a bit pricey but not awful if you do it yourself. I'd imagine you're $500 into panels if you need new backlighting. Another $250 +/- for new rockers and switches.

Gauges would probably be the most expensive part if they cannot be repaired. And you'll probably want/need to do them all at the same time since you will likely not find matching gauges from 1990.

I'm looking at doing the same think on a 1992 Sundancer 290. Tbh it's as cheap or as expensive as you want to make it. I plan to replace the facia behind the dials with Carbon fibre abs sheet about £45, some grey vinyl that was left over by the original owner on he accents and various clocks and switches bought on ebay including a digital GPS Speedo for £98. I won't be doing it all at once so that makes it more affordable. My only sticking point is the large expanse of blue plastic that stretches to the window which I haven't yet worked a solution for.
