took a cruise this past Sunday morning with friends to North Harbor Club on LKN for brunch.....the weather was perfect and the food was great.....

great time of year for this since not many boats are out on the water yet....the docking at North Harbor Club can be 'interesting' with a 37' boat and a little wind when the crowded docks are mostly full of boats....

"Interesting" is what makes us better skippers. Any fool can run a boat up and down a lake or river. The better skippers are the ones who can bring that boat into a dock in any kind of weather and look good doing it.

Just tried North Harbor club for the first time the other day. Really nice place with items other than "bar food". It must get brutally hot outside on that deck in the summer though; it was really toasty when I was there a couple of weeks ago

On summer weekends if we can't get to North Harbor Club by 11:45am we don't make the trip. I expect it will be more crowded this year with the Rudder closed.

there are large umbrellas that get set up outside during the summer.....we have eaten there during the summer and late in the evening it is not too bad.....but I like hot weather so what is comfortable to me may not be comfortable to you....

during the busy season we only go there by car.....as I said in my original post it can get a little tricky docking a boat larger than 30' when most of the restaurant slips are full and especially if a wind happens to be blowing....

Supposedly the new place (Hello Sailor) is opening in June where the Rudder used to be

Ahh that makes sense; it would be fine with umbrellas I think. They didn't have any out when we went and it was pretty hot.

Personally I like Port City club if I want something more than Blue Parrot type food. - super easy to dock there. Only downside is that it's a hike for me

I have not been to Port City yet....but it is on the list to try this year....we went to Blue Parrot this past Saturday afternoon for an early dinner before the ballgames came on....I like their food....it was a pretty good crowd.....it was pretty windy so only smaller boats were coming in.....there is really only one spot I can dock my boat which is on the end of the dock so we don't take the boat to the BP either during the busy season....plus the water is always rough due to the boat traffic and the wind that is normally present...the boats that are at the dock really bounce up and down a lot....

Port City has probably the easiest/best docking of any restaurant on the lake. The dock is well inside a long no wake zone and there's plenty of room to maneuver.
