While out at the boat yesterday I accidentally let the windshield open too fast and slam down, and it shattered. I got all the glass cleaned up, which was one very tedious job, but now I need to find a replacement. It's just the walkthrough part.

Where can I find one for my 270 SLX?

Sea Ray maybe? If not, any reputable glass shop should be able to cut you a replacement and install it in the existing frame.

They are tempered glass. If flat, some glass shops will take measurements and send out to have a tempered piece made. Do not replace it with standard glass.

Looking at some photos I have of my boat, it looks like the windshield is curved. Can someone confirm that?

Most are curved - Taylor Made made the windshield. I would start by calling SeaRay - afraid your going to find it expensive to replace. Once you know the part # I would check eBay, Great Lakes skipper, etc.

Taylor Made Have your make, model, HIN and if there's a # on the Taylor Made windshield handy. Be prepared, it's not cheap.

Ouch that is going to coast some coin. On my old 240 taylor made wanted like something over 900 for the replacment. I ended up having a piece of lexan cut and used it until I sold the boat.

I looked today. There is some curve to it, but I do not know if it is so much that a flat piece wouldn't work.

You will probably have to take it to a glass shop to know if a flat piece will work. That said, it may look odd if flat and it's supposed to be curved. Boat parts are pricey. I just spent $1700 to have my sunpad completely rebuilt after it flew off on the way home from the lake and got pulverized on the Interstate. About $1K of that was labor. If they don't make the part anymore, double the price of what it would normally cost.

Do you have insurance? You may be able to file a comprehensive claim and be reimbursed.

I had the same thing happen on my 260 Sundancer. It looked curved, and maybe it did have a slight curve, but I had a flat piece made and it looked fine. The only time you will notice a difference is when wearing polarized glasses. The factory glass has something in it that shows when wearing the glasses.

EXCELLENT. I will try this first.
