Uhh, you might want to look in a mirror and see where your head is. You should educate yourself as to what I was referring to before you make an ass of yourself. But I'm tolerant, unlike some, so I won't hold your ignorance against you. And WTF is a "2 gold star Olympian"?
 
Don't know Mr. Whelan's back story . But we do think we know all about Brittany Griner because of the news media that picks and choose what they say is true. Number one what makes this country great is the fact that anyone can do what Griner did. What makes it a shame is why she did it which just falls through the cracks. The ack becomes more important then the why. The minute We the People start taking away the right to protest what someone feels is a wrong doing we no longer are The United States of America. The bottom line is you are judging a person because you don't like what they are in your mind . Do I like what I think she represents no I don't and then I hear how stupid that statement is. The truth that all our great members of the Arm Forces have gave their Life's for freedoms just like this. If you are going to judge Miss. Griner for simple not being present for the National Anthem and think it's okay for what happened to the Capital Building on January 6th. and what it represents then you are the definition of a hypocrite. Griner's protest cost nothing but her on popularity can't say that about the January 6th protest.

See I wouldn’t say Griners protest cost nothing…. A lot of kids and adults were effected by her protest of our national anthem…. Why do elite athletes do it?…. To hurt themselves?
A January 6th comparison is a bit of a stretch….. pelosi held the gates/doors open…. Not even close in comparison between the two events

I figured you meant medals, but didn't want to assume. Thanks for the apology, accepted but unnecessary. I am sure I could have been more civil in my response. But no worries from my end, I am not easily offended.

It's not that she was protesting, but that she was assimilating the country, the flag, and the anthem with racism and discrimination, which is untrue. Not much different than calling your wife or mother a whore and getting away with it.
 
The rumor mill will have a field day with all this. I refuse to pick and choose between what's real and made up these days. As for Griner what I think of her and what sha has actually done in my book is wrong. But these extreme left and right groups aren't any better.

Her protest and the fact she was dumb enough to take a vape pen with hash oil in it to Russia is two different things. She F'ed up and because of who she is Putin used her as a pawn. In the end maybe there will be more pressure to get Whelan back now. But none of us know anything about Whelan even though he's been held against he's will in Russia since 2018.

Paul Whelan was is not an American citizen was Canadian born, US Marine for 6 yrs. with a British, Irish, and Canadian citizenship. Was released from duty for larceny plus not being an American might have something to do with him not being released by the US. Not sure where Canada stand on all this. Remember the orange guy didn't free him either. Sure am glad nothing like this happened with the NFL.

Pretty much everyone in prison is held against their will. I been reading about Whelan, things in his life don't add up, I'm thinking he really is a spy, who's spy is the question.
