Awesome pics, thanks for sharing Ian. Couldn't help but notice; last post, 4th pic down, rods are obviously being used but the boat appears to be going pretty fast. How fast do you guys troll your gear?

Lucky you made it back on Saturday! Weather's crazy out there now... 11metre (36 foot) waves and 130km/h (80mph) winds. Sounds like there are a heap of boats up our way that have broken their moorings, even a small marina in Lake Macquarie broke in to pieces.

Hi Sweet, Yep, bloody horrid down here.

Chris. Marlin & Tuna, we troll around 7-8kn. We also run jetheads or hi speeds up to say 15-17Kn, generally run on the way out to the grounds, just in case..... Re the photo though, cant remember when I actually took that one, there may or may not have been a lure in the water at the time...but there was this one time (at band camp) when I had this brilliant idea of throwing a high speed skirt out, which was fine until someone decided 23kn's was a good speed, with the swell that was running, the lure kept digging in and ripping line off, then flying out of the water. Took me 10 minutes to wind it in and my arms were killing me at the end.

So may of even been that photo!
