Actually our pig eats better then most humans. He is on a heart healthy diet. Pigs have the same or near cardiovascular that humans do.

Now see what you did,got the admiral pissed off because of SOME peoples remarks, but she did post pics. of our pig :smt038 he weigh's about 90 pounds so any idea's for a lifting device for our '81 sundancer is appreciated

yeah, the only pork I like is on the roaster.

But, I know it happens, I had friends that made pets of their cows/bulls/pigs/ducks/chickens too... it was difficult when it came time to butcher them. We'd have to have them stay away from the barn during that day.

Try a meat processing plant, this is a boating website.

I googled "How to pick up a pig" and my wife walked in to my office and caught me. She is not talking to me now.

Google is great but you need to be careful what you ask for, I was looking for some info on woodworking and did a search with my youngest daughter.. Bad move.:wow:

Couple of questions. First can your pig get on board from the dock without needing a lift? Second can he swim or go in the water with animal life jacket? If the answer is no to one or both then you need a pig sitter when you go boating or start lifting weights.

Yes he can get aboard from the dock. Yes he can get to the swim platform. From the swim platform into the boat, while beach on a sandbar/island is the problem. It is more about SAFELY lifting and getting him aboard for both him and my husband. That is why we are looking for serious ideas for the lift or hoist.

Ko-Jac is a pot belly pig not a livestock pig. He is just as much apart of our family as dogs, or cats. He boats with us. Our dock mates enjoy seeing him, and he is very popular on the river. So all of you with the bacon, and eating and killing jokes get over yourselves. Your right this is a boating site and we have a challenge to over come getting our pig on our boat, and asked for legitimate suggestions. What is so hard about that?

I think you could find something at a pet store.

Something like this.DOG RAMP or This

I had to rig something like this up for my wife... next time I'm at the boat, I'll take pictures

OBOY OBOY you are brave.........:smt021:smt021

One other question... when a pig get old and is suffering, do you put it down like a dog? Or do you take it to the butcher shop and freeze the meat?

Does the pig eat leftovers? Like pork chops and bacon? Seems a little disturbing if he does....
