I need to find my vessels height from the water line to the top of the arch. Where do I find an accurate size? It is a 98 Sundancer 330 with twin 7.4s IB. I do have a Raymarine radar which I would tack on to the known height. The admiral thinks??? THINKS we can fit the 11' clearance at South Havens Dykman Street Draw. Being at the helm I assume she is wrong and wait patiently. Anyone have a like vessel with your data. I am thinking 2' or more clearance before I go. Hate the sound of fibreglass grinding with steel. :smt100

I can get under 11'8" with a few inches to spare. That's with radar, SAT.

have the wife stand at the bow of the boat and eyeball where the top of her head is in relation to the high point on the boat, should be about even. Then when you go under a bridge, go slow with her standing on the bow. if she bonks her head on the bridge, you'll have enough time to throw it in reverse.

If you call Sea Ray customer service they can tell you what the clearance is to the top of the arch. Above that you'll have to measure.

If you're worried about the height of the boat when you're hauling it or having it professionally moved, a lot of that will depend on the trailer it sits on.

That is the funniest thing I've read in weeks.

Yeah that ought to ring some bells!

Sea Ray says 10'9" waterline to top of arch, but I ain't buying that. It can't possibly be that high.

The 2000 340 is 9'11" waterline to arch. The 320 is 9'6" waterline to arch. These numbers appear accurate.

Why would the older 330 be so much higher? The Sea Ray spec for the 330 just doesn't seem right.

We have a 1999 310 and the bridge clearance (according to Sea Ray) is 11' 0" from the waterline to the top of the anchor light.

Our arch is a little higher than the 97 330's but not too much.

We also go under the same draw bridge that is being referred to in the thread. We are typically waiting now rather than lose our radar:grin: going through with it down.

How much does that 11' clearance vary during the season? Just because you fit one day, you may not fit the next day.

Depending on the wind I have seen Lake Erie vary 2 feet at my dock over the course of a weekend.

You can figure it out with a tape measure, fishing pole, sinker weight and small bubble level.

Rest the pole on top of the radar with the tip over one side of the boat. Using the level to keep the pole parallel to the water, slowly lower the sinker until it touches the water. Measure the length of line from pole tip to sinker. Now you can make adjustments for mast head light, or GPS and you have your overhead clearance.

We have seen the river go up and down 6 inches within hours.

Yet another reason why I wait for the bridge now.

That is a fact. I have enough data now to warrant the wait. The sound of fibreglass grinding and cracking on steel isn't soothing. The admiral on the bow.............................Now that is worth a thought........................well maybe not.

Just have her use one of these...
