Hello members. I have a 2000 B3 outdrive on a 260DA. Only had it for 6 months. The shop is saying the trim cylinders are fairly corroded and leaking a little. Parts are about $650 per side and $137 to install. Is that about the right price? Are there less expensive places to get them or maybe alternate brands? Tempted to see if I can get another season out of them as they are working fine at this point. Any recommendations? Thanks!

Just googled, $320 the pair for SEI at NuWave.

Clean hose connectors with a wire brush, and gently remove fittings. Run trim up and down a few times to bleed them. Easy job, as long as you don't strip the hose fittings.

Thanks for all the replies! I'm having difficulty finding the parts on Nuwave. The parts are supposed to be:

8M0128692
8M0128693

The search engine pulls up everything except for these. ?

Give them a call or try one of the other parts suppliers. You could also check out SEI Marine direct, get their part numbers, then shop for the best deal. You will probably need your stern drive serial number.

Good suggestion PatrickM. Thanks. Have any of you had experience with the corrosion resistance of SEI products in saltwater? Price point is definitely good. I appreciate being directed to them. Might use them for other things as well.

I've never really investigated SEI products, but I'm sure a little searching around will uncover plenty of information.

Good used parts turn up all the time on Craigs and Ebay for a fraction of the new cost

I suppose so. I figure there's likely some stage advice on this forum though. Would be good to know if anyone has experience with SEI and OEM.

FishOn, the chances of someone seeing your post and being able to provide you with the specific information you are looking for in my opinion is slim. The best way to get specific information would be to go to Google, type in clubsearaysei and you will find many threads concerning SEI. May not be exactly what you are looking for but I just looked and got quite a few hits. Don't forget, there are many other boating forums on the internet, and they probably have information that's useful to you.
