Also not sure but I'm assuming that the rear propeller must spin clock-wise.? This should keep the nut in place and is why Mercruiser opted to eliminate the cotter pin. Another thing that confused me is that the OEM anode adapter nut looks like it has holes to accommodate a cotter pin. Whelp another lesson learned in my education about this boat. Thanks for your help! Appreciated.

Update:
Tried the Performance Metals prop anode conversion nut today. It didn't work. The nut bottoms out before the play is out of the props. Probably 1/4 to 1/8 inch short. Has anyone else experienced this? There isnt much to it. Just take the prop nut off and replace with the nozzle-like conversion one. Over time do the props sit further down on the shaft or something? Scratching my head as to why my setup would be different than others. Maybe I'll try the Boatzincs one.. ?

No, have never experienced that issue - and have probably put at least a few dozen of those kits on various boats. No, nothing should squash or sit further forward (down) on the propshafts. Check to see if there is some type of leftover manufacturing debris or junk inside the cone nut. Otherwise, contact PM directly - I'm sure they'll take care of you.
