Greetings.

My boat storage manager informed me he's "heard" there have been a rash of bravo 3 thefts from boat in storage.

Does anyone have a product they have tested and are happy with?

Regards,

An early warning device, like a Rottweiler, Pittbull or Lhasa Apso works wonders. Follow up with a .44, .45 or whatever it takes!! Another option is to cover it so it's not visible and then stack stuff heavy next to it so they can't get to it and get it out easily. You just need enough deterrent to make them take it off the boat NEXT to yours! Some folks even remove it for the winter and store it (under the bed?). You usually pull it in the Spring anyway to check it out. Why not get an early start?

There are a few web sites that have stainless steel locking nuts. Add to the already over load of b3 stainless and you better add another anoid. Best idea, make sure your properly insured, your marina is insured and if it still bothers you at night, get a glass of warm milk and go to bed. :smt015

Point is, if someone really and truley wants it, its gone. :smt021 So don't sweat the small stuff, do what you can and go on.

Pitbull, already have 3 tied to it! Take what is next to me .... hum, there both inferior boats, with A1's, oh well.

Yea, I've seen the locking nuts/bolts available, but of course they stainless .... I was just wondering is anyone has actually "used" any of the specific products made for this application. I'll continue to review the webpages and ask the guys at the marina. Insurance is in good standing though!

I have a locking device on my BIII that is similar to a wheel lock that you see in many sporty type car rims. The only problem is that the tool for removal is in the glove box of the boat. Hopefully it stays there for I may as well have it tied to the swim platform.

The lock came with the drive when I bought the boat so I am not sure if this is the same model however, it appears to be based on the pics. Hope this helps.

Just a quick note... last summer on the Rideau near Ottawa a boater looked out at the slip in front of his home and discovered the boat missing. Only upon a closer look did he see that it had in fact sunk sometime during the night. Guess what? Someone stole the BIII!
