I have a green tint to what smells like grease.. Is marine grease "green" or do I have a water intrusion problem..?

I did empty the oil / gear lube and it looks like new..The grease is only around the shift cable coupling.

Thanks in advance.

To me that looks like special 101 grease from quicksilver I've never seen it run like that tho...

I have bought several cartridges of marine rated lube over the years that were pale green.

It is 101 lube and is a bit "runny" by nature. Is the O ring in good shape? Not sure if you have water in it or not.

The integrity of the O ring looks good. I`ll have to purchase some 101 lube and compare the new to the old.

Thanks to all who have replied.
