Selling a set of brand new, OEM mercruiser elbows with a 4" rise. Part number 8M0153671

I ordered 4" rise and I need a 6" rise for my boat, so my loss is your gain. I ordered from PartsVu on 9/12/22 and went to install on 9/24/22 and realized I ordered the wrong size. PartsVu has the kit for $1400. Feel free to make me a reasonable offer.

I would prefer pickup but will ship at your expense. Pick up in Crofton, MD 21054.

That’s a major bummer, since they’re new and unused, can’t you return them?

I can but if I'm going to lose money to ship back 100lb elbows and a 20% restocking fee on top of that... I'd rather a fellow boater benefit from it.

Partsvu has been really good in terms of customer service with me. You might as well call them, explain what happened and see if they will waive the 20% restocking fee. They have for me in the past.

I think that’s a great idea to call PartsVu, I’ve had limited experience with them, but they’ve been great. If you bought the second, correct size through them, they made their profit, and I’d bet they would waive the re-stocking fee, certainly worth a call.

If they don’t, please let us know, the collective buying power in sites like this can help us all… if they don’t want to waive the fee, consider telling them about your intention to post that info. A smart retailer is going to pay attention to that.

Beyond all that, if you end up selling them to a fellow boater, passing on the (re-stocking fee) profit, my hat is off to you, that’s Really cool.

Good Luck with a good resolution!

I did call them and explained and no luck. Lady said prices are going up and going on backorder so I should have no problem selling, lol.

Wow, I feel that is not an ethical way to do business, so I join @Korkie, I will not do business with PartsVu any longer. Well, @MHorn0817, I wish I could use them, I’d give you what you paid for them. Wishing you the best of luck a good Buyer comes along!

I appreciate all the support guys. Lesson learned, measure 3 times and order once, lol. Wish it would've worked out since the 6" rise I need are $800 more.

Same thing happened to me. I ordered 6" rise for my 8.1", 4 of them. They sold them for $620 each. I needed the 4" rise. When I found out they said they would return them at no fee, but would not pay for shipping. Cost me $200 to ship them back and then found out within 1 day the price went up to $784 each. Charging you a restock fee. I'd be pissed. Your buying the correct on from them. Not like your buying somewhere else.

Normally I hate to bad mouth, but.....
I bought my manifolds from them and paid online. I had even called them to make sure they were in stock.
Two days later they called me and said they made a mistake on the price and if I still wanted them I needed to fork over another $400 or they will cancel my order. I was pissed and spoke to the manager and she said they were actually more and the $400 was just to break even. I ended up paying it reluctantly after I looked around and even with the added bucks it was still a good deal. Still don't like that way of doing business....

Yup same thing happened with me. There price is still a few bucks lower so I also bought from them. Said they were in stock online, but were not.

I will pay the honest guy (or gal) a little more for the right stuff at a fair price. I purchase all my parts from my local guy who takes very good care of me. If I have a question or problem he is just a phone call away to help me get through it. All at no charge. We did our regular Chesapeake Bay marina hope trip this past August. On the way around to Solomons from the Potomac the stbd engine was running sluggish. Called and he said its most likely either plugs or wires. Sent a tech over at 415 same day, they close at 4, and this was a Friday. Changed plugs and wires, test run and all was well. $91 for the volvo wire set, I had the plugs. Labor $100.00 The tech was there for over 2 hours. We left as planned the following Sunday morning and ran like a champ. This makes paying to little extra for parts well worth it.

Still sitting and looking pretty. The correct 6" have arrived and been installed.
