Hello to all the gulf coast boaters out there! If you dont know me, I'm Brains and I'm originally from the Metro Detroit area but I've just relocated to Hattiesburg, MS. My boat is still in Mi but I plan on bringing it down in the spring and I would really love to hear from the other Gulf coasters about tips/info as to where to boat or dock as well as what to look out for. I've never boated in salt water nor have I any real info on boating out of the Gulfport/Biloxi area. Please if you can help or point me in the right direction...I would greatly appreciate it. In return...anyone needing any teak work done, get at me!

Come on up to ct. with that teak work...I'm here waiting!!! I think it's great you moved down there, I hear they need all the brains they can get! (lol THAT IS A JOKE) disclaimer needed sometimes on the net Ric

Kat,

Its been an adventure to be sure so far but for the most part I'm really liking it. My wife is from here so I've already been conditioned a bit from previous trips. Still...there are a few things that get under my skin but I guess its just a regional thing. I'm really gonna have to do more homework on the saltwater boating and how it's gonna affect my cooling system. From what I understand, as long as I do a freshwater flush after I should be fine...but we'll see.
Does that big dancer have any teak on it? Ship it to me and I'll hook ya up!

welcome to the south ;) - if you ever get tired of biloxi/ gulfport area boating, bring your boat over to orange beach- the wharf marina has a lot to offer with shops, restaurants, concerts and etc......
