Bow Thruster 270 Sundeck

Yes I know this look nasty and needs a good cleaning.....

I checked when I went home from lunch and and I could not get the prop to spin either way. It is stuck and only has a little play of about 1/4 inch.

Here is a pic of the thruster prop and anode.

I'm running out of time to get all this done. I arrive in Florida for a shopping vacation (says the admiral!) tomorrow and will stay for 10 days. The plan was to have had the wiring tested up to the motor so I would know if I needed to pull the unit out and put it in my suitcase to carry it up to the USA and see if anyone there can repair it. I guess I'll have to test it when I get back and then make a list and do a BOAT parts shopping trip for the new year! Thanks for pointing me in the right directions!

But did you check for continuity across the fusible link?

Unfortunately, if you have power to the controller and the motor the next step is to disconnect the motor from the tunnel. It has a waterproof seal. With the motor disconnected you can check to make sure that the prop spins freely. If it does not.....the problem is in the propeller drive gear.

If it does spin freely the problem is in the controller/motor assembly.
