Hi all,

Been lurking for awhile, thanks for all the great tips.

Just took delivery on a new 175 Sport. Only have one hour on it so far, but already the lip under the bow seats is cracking. I'll talk to the dealer about this of course, but this seems like a problem.

How are the bow seats secured on the bigger models, and any thoughts on how to prevent this?

TIA
Rick

Welcome to the board, sorry you had to lurk so long. Welcome to the board.

That is a warranty problem I have not seen before so take it back to your dealer and let his service department make the corrections needed. My 02 176BR never had anything like that happen around the seats. At a quick glance it almost looks like something banged around in there.

Also if you could size down the picture just a little bit it would help with the side to side scroll.

You don't keep your anchor there do you?

No on the anchor storage.

There is a lip under the seat cushion that I believed caused this. To secure the cushion, you have to push this lip under the cracked glass edge, and then there is a block on the other side of the cushion.

This block then wedges in the other side of the opening.

To remove it, you must lift the cushion at an almost 45 degree angle, and I think this lip cracked the glass edge as I removed the seat, so I believe it is self inflicted.

I am out of town for the next 4 days, and will attach a small pic of it when I return, but I am curious to see how the bigger models secure the front bow cushions, and is it the same?

Thanks again!
Rick

Rick...............I think you are probably right on what has caused the problem. Those blocks on the bottom of the seat can be moved pretty easily if they turn out to be the culprit (they are just held in place with two screws) and the gelcoat repair should be fairly easy to do as well. The seats should pretty much drop in place without a lot of pushing and they should come right out easily as well.

Your dealer should definitely take care of the repairs for you under warranty.
