I decided that I would really like to have a bow filler cushion. It was an option for my boat but the PO did not order one. The boat does has the lip around the front seats to support the base.

After looking at OEM prices for them I decided to just make one.

I made a base out of treated wood that rests on the lip and I am going to hire a upholstery shop to make the actual cushion.

I have a few questions about the cushion as I have never actually seen one, just the pictures in the parts catalog.

How far back does the cushion go? I made the wooden base to go back as far as possible but if you lean or step on the rear edge it pops the front of the wood up as it "teters" just in front of the cup holders. I think I might need to take an inch or even a little more off of it.

Second - Originally I was planning on having the cushion attached to the base but I don't think that is possible as the side cushions actually overlap the wood just a little. I think the cushion will have to be slightly smaller than the wood and just rest or velcro down to it. Is this how the OEM ones work too? (I know the base is in 2 or 3 pieces so I am guessing they are?) I don't think it can go any where as the other cushions will hopefully hold it in place.

Thanks

Did you ever figure this out? I would love to see pictures of your finished product. I am looking for a bow filler cushion for my 2003 220 Bow Rider
