So we purchased our first Sea Ray today!! Its a 1987 21' Seville, its in great shape and super clean. My parents use to own the exact same one back in the late 80's. I can't wait to take it out for a run. We get to pick her up on Friday from the dealer. I think we will be spending the entire weekend at the lake.

Congrats on the purchase! I too bought my first Sea Ray yesterday (2002 260 Sundancer). Couple of minor things need to be addressed from the survey but my plan is to be on the water this weekend.

Congrats Tlessing!! Looks like we now share the same "birthday" or Sea Ray Day !!

Lets see some pictures

So we took the new Sea Ray out yesterday and today. Everything went great!! A few highlights of the past two days...

1st Launch - back the boat in, I climb in, fire the motor and my wife is standing there waiting to unhook the strap, and she's waiting, and waiting and waiting, finally she looks at me and I say the motor is fired. She looks at me with a surprised look and says Oh, I didn't even hear you start it.

1st time getting pulled over by the state park ranger!! I was pulling my wife and daughter on a tube with no spotter. So then they gave me a stern talking to and let me off with a warning. On the positive side I passed the safety inspection!!

Anchoring and just hanging with the family and swimming.

Finally, putting the boat on the trailer with no issues. The wife back the trailer in for the first time, she looked like a drunk sailor backing her down, but she did good.

It was just such a perfect first run for the new boat.... We love it!!!

Got to love the quality of Sea Ray. Ours is a 2002. I've seen newer ones, same model, with less hours that don't look half as good. Make sure you continue to take care of it as the previous owner(s) obviously did and it'll never look it's age.

Enjoy!

Welcome aboard.

Thanks, I will. I am kind of a freak when it comes to taking care of things like this. I have already started touching up some nicks and scuffs. I plan on doing a nice buff and wax job on it this week or next. Already replaced a few small hardware issues that I didn't like. I still have a few more minor things I want to take care of.

A few of the decals are missing on one side, I already plan on taking it to a vinyl shop and having them duplicate the missing decals. I want it to be as close to original as possible.

You can save yourself a lot of money if you remove the old stripes yourself , after the graphics shop takes pic's of cource . Now if your thinking , oh its just a few stripes how much can it be ? well that's what i thought when i had mine done , to do all the stripes and decals on mine they quoted me 6 GRAND !!!!! and that was with me removing the old ones. NO WAY!!!!! they were busy at the time. later on in the year they called and wanted some work , $1000. with all stripes removed, they look really good with fresh stripes.
