I had recently bought a boat and i have no clue what year or the specs of the boat, All i know right now is it is a 18ft seville cuddy cab 140merc thats it. and i think the mic# is serv1871j485.any info would be great.:smt024

It is a model year 1985 that was produced by Sea Ray in their Vonore, Tennessee factory in October of 1984.

I just noticed that link refers to that model as a "Monaco". I don't see a Seville in the 1985 line-up.

Well i went ahead and called a searay dealer and the guy on the other end said my boat is a 86 searay seville that was built in 1985. In 1985 the model seville did not exist to his knowledge

Then the serial number you posted is wrong.

An 86 model would end in 8 6, not 8 5. Also, the USCG mandated characters for the actual date of production, the 9th and 10th character in the serial no you posted, show that the boat was actually produced in October, 1984.

im sure ur right ill double check but that is what the guy at the sea ray dealer in maryland told me, And when i was trying to look up a 1985 seville on the searay web site it didnot show a seville in 85 so darned if i know there is another number under the mic# its scc 3426

And, the Seville was indeed produced in 1985.

There are 2 numbers on the transom: The Hull Idetification Number is a serial number with certain digits coded to mean specific things. That number is mandated by the USCG and the number you furnished above is the HIN# because it begins with Sea Ray's manufacturing code identifier.

THe other number on the transom, usually below the HIN # is an internal production number for Sea Ray and is of little or no use to anyone who does not have access to SR production files.

well frank thank you for the help and i guess im gonna have to go and do my homework on this. the boat needs some love but it runs,and all it needs is some interior work had i t in the river for 10 mins or so but it runs nice and smooth only topped at 32mph so say the orig speedo but 4 600 bucks boat and trl cant beat it
