Retirement is now visible on the horizon. In addition to moving to our beach house permanently it means a retirement boat! I am actively on the decison trail. Had a mid-90s 270 and stored on the hard and close to home on EI. Easy to keep clean and peace of mind when heavy weather and hurricane season rolled in. Downsized when we moved away as not used as much and a CC was just easier to take care of when only using the boat every couple of weeks. First issue is wet slip or store on hard. I want to be reasonably close to the boat so it means marinas in Swanboro/Morehead/Atlantic Beach/Beaufort. If I'm going to drystore probably biggest I can go is mid-2000s 300 or newer 310 and will have to go to a marina in the Morehead/AB area to find lift capacity of 12-15k pounds. Wet slip lets me stay closer to home but not sure if I want keep a boat wetslipped.

1. If I stay on the hard will I have to bottom paint? Generally would be only day or weekend trips so wouldn't need bottom paint. However, I can certainly foresee trips down the ICW of several weeks or longer. Thoughts? Experience?

2. If wetslipped how often will I need to put on the scuba tanks and clean the bottom. Also where do you move the boat to in the event of a serious hurricane threat?

Thanks in advance
