The admiral, mates, friends and I are heading up to Boomsday this weekend for the first time. They say it is the largest Labor Day fireworks show in the US. We'll see. I grew up in Louisville with the (IIRC) largest fireworks show in the US - Thunder Over Louisville, which kicks off Derby week in Kentucky. I hope Boomsday is worth it.

Anyway, who's going?

If you want to tie up, we'll be there Sunday at noonish and be staying overnight (if I find my anchor on Saturday). Hail Bluegrass Buccaneer on the VHF and/or come by and say hello!!! Better yet, let me know in advance and we'll bring extra food and drink.

We will probably be going as well. I am not sure if we will stay overnight or slowly drive back to the house via moonlight. It depends on how many people come with us. I made the run to the stadium this weekend to watch the wakeboard tournament.

Good luck with the anchor. I have a spare you can borrow if you cannot locate yours.

That is very generous of you, LR. If you wouldn't mind, I may take you up on that anchor. I will be out Saturday with a grapple and my snorkeling gear to attempt to get mine. (That is the first chance I'll get to get out there due to working all week.) Hopefully, I'll have a tank to SCUBA dive with instead of snorkeling it all. If I don't find it then, I would want to borrow yours to stay on the hook overnight. I'll gladly give you something for your trouble and letting me borrow it.

I'm going - but it's also my first time. We'll be staying the night if we can dock up. The problem is most people go up Thursday for the UT game and stay til monday morning . . Here's a link to help with what to do at boomsday

Where do you guys leave from - I'm at Concord.

I have a very good parking pass for this game so we will be driving. I will not be leaving until Sunday sometime afternoon. It's tough to dock since most of the municipal dock space is off limits the night of the fireworks. Anchoring out is what we will do.

I will be leaving from the house which happens to be between concord and choto.

Matt, We are staying the night as well, so if you raft up to us for the festivities, you should be fine on our hook. I hope to have your graphics by then, as well.(cross your fingers).

Hope you guys enjoy the show! Remember, they are shooting the fireworks from the railroad bridge this year due to the construction on the Henley bridge. Kim will be working the show while I stand around looking wise. It will have a few surprises this year so I hope you enjoy! Be safe! Scott
