I just joined the group and wanted to say hello. I'm the President of BOATPIX and there is a thread that is quoting $800 for a picture from us and that is WAY HIGH. The FAQ's of our website: http://www.boatpix.com/general/faqs.htm

In the thread on the Club Sea Ray forum there are several very happy customers that list there pix and it truly warms my heart that so many people have such nice things to say.

We've sold 16x20 color picture from the helicopter for $250 since 1996. They were $150 in 1981 when we started. This represents a great deal for a helicopter picture and I got a kick out of the guy that suggested he would take a picture from a highway bridge as I started by taking pictures at the Ocean City, Mayrland rockpile jetty almost 30 years ago.

If you get a letter in the mail or go to our website don't hesitate to put the credit card in and request pictures. If you've hesitated in the past go to www.boatpix.com now. The credit card protects both of us. We're protected in that the folks that aren't really interested aren't going to waste our time. You are protected, too. I feel more comfortable using a credit card dealing with online transactions as you always can appeal to that third party if something goes wrong. Our is a secure site and we have a link to the BBB.

If you have any events or rendezvous you would like us to photograph please contact me at TM@BOATPIX.com or use www.BOATPIX.com/events or click on the event wizard at the main website. There is no charge to photograph the event.

If you've ever wanted to relocate your boat to Ft Lauderdale, I might have a slip for you. I'm a $22 cab ride from the Ft Lauderdale airport. It really helps if you come after hurricane season (December 1) and that you are familiar with rates.

We currently have helicopters in Newport, Annapolis, Wilmington, Seattle, Portland, Los Angeles, Ozarks, Houston, Pensacola, Sarasota, West Palm and Ft Lauderdale.

My phone is 561-346-2816 if you have any questions.

We've been known to photograph boats on Lake Lanier. Is the water level up? When does the boating season end? Do they still have that big poker run? We have two helicopters coming out of overhaul and one is destined to Gainesville, Georgia to cover your area. My notes from a previous customer say: "
Lake Lanier: Buford GA to Gainesville GA

Holiday
Landmar
Aqualand
Baldridge

You should also shoot on Lake Onoconee and also Lake Hartwell"

I was invited out on a Sea Ray a couple of months ago but to answer your question about my boat it is a 1969 Pacemaker (Alglas) Wahoo which is 25 feet long with a nine foot beam. It's a center console and I don't use it very much. Floats behind my house.

Late last year there was a fellow who was interested in trading his used Sea Ray for a used helicopter. He had owned the Sea Ray for a long time and I have a lot of helicopters and have owned them for a long time so we thought about a 1031 exchange. A wholesaler evaluated his trade at about 1/3 of what he evaluated it so it simply didn't make sense.

That's why I pointed out in my post that I have a boat slip as the Wahoo is going to be put up on a lift for the Hurricane season and I can put perhaps a boat as long as 40' behind the house. When you keep someone else's boat behind your house you can go boating for "free." Well, sort of.

I'm evaluating a couple pics from BoatPix. I received three photos; from the other aerial photo post it seems that other folks received more proofs. Are there more available than th three I received?

I think the number of photos is determined by the photographer and pilot. My last boat they shot only 4, while this time they shot 10.

We usually send out three pictures. That's usually quite enough. We photoshop out the barnacles, stains from the bilgepump and birdpoop on the Bimini. The photos you get will even have the fenders and towels removed. We can't do this on all the pictures and its rate someone buys more than three pictures. You can always call 1-800BOATPIX or email sales@boatpix.com and the can send you all the proofs electronically.
