Hi my fellow yachties ... Among the many pleasures I've had in boating was joining a yacht club. The social networking, the commaraderie, on the water crusing and and knowledge sharing have always given me far more than the cost.
This past Sunday we enjoyed our annual ritual of "Change of Command" where new officers take over command of the club. this event is THE HIGH HOLY DAY of yachting in a YC. Amongst the many festifvities surrounding tanking the departing officer gouop and saluting the incoming are parties, Dances and the "Fleet Review". Fkleet reviews are just like a troop review except its the members passing their baots infront fo the Command for Review, all very foral with dress code, salutes and yes the Dressing of Ship!
My date for this most special occasion were caught in pose ...
Accompalying me in this ritual was a my good friend Vic (also a member and a Regal 42 owner) and his date ...
Aside from just being "out there" I really do like the clubby atmosphere of belonging to a YC. Maybe we should have a CSR Ball?
