Hope everyone that got out and had an uneventful weekend. Seems like with the horrible spring we had here in the Catawba Is. Lake Erie as well as every where else. There's still a lot of boats on the hard. Middle Bass State Marine was only half full for the holiday. PIB is feeling the effect of our current water level trend with a lot of docks under water and B dock had temporary wood walk ways. So far the high water is the norm this year. We did have a line up of Sea Rays all lined up from a 400 sedan bridge down to my 310 Da. But as long as you can get out on the Lake we here on the Great Lakes can deal with a little crappy weather.

We had relatively few boats go by our house this weekend even on the one really nice day. Even the locals seemed to not be boating. Today is foggy and chilly as this pic shows.

We got out yesterday for a few hours. Temps in the low 80's, light winds, no clouds and lots of boats to watch. Cruised upstream, dropped the hook then started cleaning. The sheriff's boat stopped by to say hello and spent about 20 minutes BS'ing with them. They're friends of mine and they said they're getting a new boat in a couple of weeks. They offered a ride in it when it gets here and I gladly took them up on their offer.

Then we slow cruised back to the slip after a great day afloat.

Friday was blowing a gale (well, not literally, but felt that way). Saturday was a beauty on Buzzards Bay and Vineyard Sound, so we made a trip to Martha's Vineyard and found a slip at the Black Dog Wharf in Vineyard Haven. (Beginnings is the tan canvas 340DA in the center.)

The crew (at least the Admiral and my son's girlfriend) report that brunch at the Black Dog Tavern was so filling that they had to walk around Vineyard Haven and shop for hours. Hopefully it wasn't "boat buck" level shopping!

Sunday was a bit of a madhouse in Grand Haven. The wall was full (even had some rafting 2-3 deep) and there was quite a bit of traffic in the channel.

I zipped by your place +/- Sunday evening to catch the fireworks in Fruitport. We all commented on there being fewer boats out there this year for the show. Maybe folks just didn't want to make the trip into Spring Lake this year knowing the water isn't "really" swimable yet....

Gotta love a nice day on the hook.

We just went in yesterday and spent the day setting everything up. Didn't make it out for a cruise but was happy to sit and listen to music. Heavy rain now and I guess for the next few days. Wife is pretty worried about flooding and worried about the boat but we will see how it goes. If we have to we can pull it but hopefully it doesn't get that bad
