A few pics from the boat trip to Pickwick Lake which lies in TN, AL and Mississippi. we ran about 500 miles total over 5 days. The boat ran great and my first mate and I had a fantastic time.

First stop was Pebble Isle Marina which is a ~80 mile run upstream for us. We try to visit PI every year if we can. great little marina, first rate service, great food, cheapest diesel around but main reason to visit is to hoist a cold one to a good friend we lost almost 9 years ago. We left PI morning of July 4, 2003 to return from a short boat trip and later that night after the fireworks, our friend drowned due to a freak accident. Larger than life guy...just retired at 43, just bought new 56DB, had 4 adorable little girls...way too sad. so, this place has great memories and a special meaning for us.

For some reason I took boat pics but no marina pics?? sorry...priorities I guess.

Thank goodness for boating. nothing better for recharging the old batteries...

Great pics...thanks for sharing!

Gotta say, that was one honkin' big piece of beef...

Great pictures. The boat is sparkling.

Very sorry about your friend. This life is full of surprises.

Can't help not noticing the cool dinghy you have there. What brand/model is that (I can see it's a jet boat too)?

Very nice....thanks.

Thanks for taking us along on your trip. Nothing quite like seeing boating pics of other places around the country. That Pickwick lock---how high is the lift in there?

Pickwick is about 60'. About 70-80 miles upstream is Wilson Lock which has a lift of just under 100'--you can build an ark in less time than it takes to work thru it.

Novurania Williams 285 with a 105 hp turbocharged Weber jet drive. 630 lbs and 52 mph...she's quite a little blast!

Wow...only 630lbs with 105HP....very impressive!!! I'm used to seeing these rigs with outboards in 25-50hp range, but 105 and managed to be relatevely light, that's something.

Thanks for sharing. It looks like simply the perfect weather and trip.

I'm glad you got some boat time... I know you were struggling with working all the time... keep the pictures coming and enjoy the water!

Thanks for the great pictures. Salt 'n Sand and us are just finishing the Great Loop and your pictures brought back some memories of places that we visited. At the bottom of the Wilson Lock we lost our GPS and our antennas are some 20 feet above the water level. As the water started to come up we got it back again. The ride up the Wilson Lock is certainly a fun one

Really sorry to hear about your friend, my group of buddies lost my friend Jim 9 years ago this month. Freak accident as well, bled out in his sleep.

Your pictures are great, I love your boat and thanks for your time in the past answering DB questions via PM. Take care
