Boat Shows

Let's do Greenport!! Mitchell can accommodate all of us, it's a great location right in the middle of town for adults and kids. Can most of us agree? Can we get a general consensus on a date that works?

Russ, I'd do Mitchell though I prefer Townsend with the pool, especially if it's hot out, but I'm open. Dates on gonna be tough for me between a high school graduation the last weekend of June, Punta Cana July 9-16 and a college freshman drop off sometime late August but if I can make it I will. Now that I think of it when the hell am I going boating this summer?:smt089

.....Lets beat those cocky AC bunch

That's a cheap shot, Wet. Specially when one of them is trying to help get this thing going......

I kind of in similar boat as Brian. Kids are in school until late June and then they go to camp. I personally think that mid August would be good for us. We might consider Block Island as well. BTW, anyone with kids will prefer warm water temps, so June doesn't provide this luxury as August.

It looks like this thread is taking way different direction from the boat shows. So, why don't we get the dedicated thread going. If you guys want I can cick it off and you chime in with your ideas.

Alex,

Sounds good, start a thread, but does that mean you have to make the name tags?

Russ, we were staying at the Marriott Marquis but cancelled today so that we could prepare at home Sunday for the Jet game and a house full of Super Bowl starved Jet fans. We may stay in and have dinner at Del Friscos.

Alex....I have two 52's in my mind.....I can retire in 18 months at 52 and keep the 44....or I can get a 52 and work another 11 years. Quite the conundrum.....

Joe, the 52DB will be the first thing we take a look at tomorrow. I should be at the Sea Ray display between noon and 1. I'm gonna guess my salesman won't make me wait on line to board

:smt043:smt043Oh man, that's a tough decision...retire on a beautiful yach or work for another 11 years... I wonder if you can use this punch line for the salesman "you make me work for 5yrs and I'll buy your 52DB"

On the serious note, you can always look in to the used market. Why take 40% depreciation in 2-3 years? Buy 4 years old 52/56DB and retire in 4 years. That's what I would do.

I was at the prov R I show last week also, your right it was a joke i said to one salesman, " I drove 200 miles for this?" If my boat where there it would have been the second largest vessel there. Sea Ray had a 350 the only one larger was a beneteau 40 blow boat. and the venders where disappointing also no gadgets,or real manufactuers more yacht clubs and marinas selling theyre slips!!!!
but as i said I visited my son saw a boat show and had a nice steak dinner with him and was home my 1am
