Russ, yes I walked in and asked a salesman "wheres all the big boats is there another floor?" he said they really down sized the show due to the Boston show's sucess . It was nice visiting my son, checking out boats and a steak dinner, whats better than that? hey Todd what day are you going? to the javits center i"m trying for Friday. P.s. happy NEW year

Heading down to the NYC Boat Show with a co-worker on Thursday.
Just got an email from Regal and they have a new 35 Sport Coupe. I love the looks of their SC boats. Looking forward to a day off of work looking at boats.

Hey Russ, fellas. I am going to try and run into the NY show on friday with a Bayliner buddy of mine. He's been lookin at the Carver Sport sedans. I just want to kill some time and look at some accessories .

Todd, give me a call when your there, 860-405-5455, maybe we can meet for a quick intro

Joe,
My buddy just told me he put in for Saturday off from work. His wife is off and wants to go too. I prefer Friday as my sons birthday is Sunday and not sure what the wife has planned for the weekend. I am also supposed to go into work sat. night. If you are thinking of going friday maybe we can carpool? Let me know. PS Happy New Year to you Too!

Russ,
That sounds great. I'm going to put your number in my phone now!

I'll be in NY on Saturday as well, what time is everyone planning on being there?

Maybe we could plan a 2011 NYC CSR Rendezvous...

Now I think that would really upset the New England boys who have been posting for the last year trying to outdo the AC trip! I don't think they have made any progress to date.....:smt009

Well, may be we can help them if we do it again in LI, like last year. We had total of 6 in Shelter Island and around 12 at Watch Hill. I'll be for it as long as the dates work for us. LI is a must comeback place for us.

Well, is anyone going to the Austin Boat show this weekend? I will be there.

I vote to make it all one rendevoux!!!!

NYC Tri-State? Where do you suggest to hold it, some where in LI? We'll need a place that can accept reservations. This is why such a cool place like Watch Hill has to be ruled out (you can only reserve the same morning), so it's out of the question for a big event. Somehow we got lucky last year, but it took me at least an hour to get through the busy phone line in am.

Alex,
That sounds great! Should we start a thread? I definitely want to be there this year. I already told my wife we will not be going away this summer, except to Lake George around the 4th of July. I will be discussing when we will be taking the "Long" boat trip this year. We may do the AC trip but I want to talk to our mutual friend, Robert. He is going to be my Zen master on this first cruise on this boat!

Alex,
I usually start calling at 8:00 am and get through pretty quick. Also, unless you have a LARGE beam, I usually had no problem with getting a spot when I just showed up last year! Another option this year MAY be Davis Park. I recently found out the Town of Brookhaven leased it out to the same concession company that leases the watch Hill marina. This was very hush hush and no one can tell me if there will be residency requirements under the new management. I will keep you posted as I learn more!

Not for lack of trying

You're in good hands with Robert. It'll be a fun trip. If you need additional help don't hesitate to ask.
Depending on how you plan on doing this you have two options: 1-break it in to overnighter after getting to NJ side, then travel with our caravan or 2-just take the long 4+hr run streight to AC.

Since we have number of people commiting to AC event, we'll need to pick a good date for LI event, so those who wish to attend to both will have enough time to work things out with their schedules. We'll also need someone from the area to take the lead on this (like Russ last year........Russ wonna volunteer?).

Montauk (MYC or SIYC), Greenport (Townsend Manor or Village Dock), Shelter Island (Coecles Harbor), Sag Harbor (SHYC), Shinnecock (Meschut), Westhampton Beach (Village or Bath and Tennis).....and....if you schedule mid week....Watch Hill (ok that's still risky for anyone over a 14' beam). You can extend it to Block Island, less than an hour east of Montauk....let the games begin....

Todd

I think they will still have a residency requirement on weekends, and.....you couldn't pay me to stay at Davis on anything but a calm night....

Oh c'mon Brian!!! You should be in that, what was it, 55' SB by the summer. Those little ole waves shouldn't bother you!!:smt043

I spoke with a couple of people in the Town Clerks office and they really didn't know. I imagine they will have some sort of residency benefit but, if the town wants them to make the lease payments they may have to relax the non-resident fee schedule somewhat to attract more boaters. That place was the dead zone for a good portion of last season. Remember, they do spray the mosquitoes over there!

How about in June when places are not packed.......I will do Block or any other place....Someone take the bull my the ______ and run with it...Lets beat those cocky AC bunch

Let's do Greenport!! Mitchell can accommodate all of us, it's a great location right in the middle of town for adults and kids. Can most of us agree? Can we get a general consensus on a date that works?
