Boat name

Bought my current Sea Ray (360DA) when I was 2 weeks on SRO.

I was welcomed very good, but still I was one of the members that come not from the USA.
You have a lot of Sea Rays in America!!

Here in the Netherlands I am one of the few with a Sea Ray.

So for that reasons I named my new boat...

"Outsider"

Dom, if I used the name "Buitenstaander" what means Outsider, I think I am al day busy here on CSR to explain to people the name.
And on the other side English is a world language so most people can read my boat name.
By the way how is your deal (410DA '02) going?? progress?

Peter, What brand is the most popular in the Netherlands?

Well of course we have some Sea Rays the speed cruiser range but the other brands are, Sunseeker,Fairline,Maxum,Regal,Gobbi,Formula,Sealine,Cruiser Yachts,Princess,Chris craft,Mustang etc.
But because we are a small country (with a lot of water!!) we only have a few hundred per brand.

Here are some pics. I know you are familiar with the most of the brands!

After our first trip on our boat, the admiral said we should name the boat "Serenity". Me being ever the wiseguy said we should name it "Serenity Now!" after the Seinfeld episode. For Seinfeld fans, it makes for great conversation starters when we travel to different marinas. :)

Ours came about from being out on the lake, getting away from 'everyday life' for a breath of relaxing fresh air. Plus it tied in nicely with our business, instead of delivering to others, getting out on the lake provided us with "My Oxygen".

We got the boat in early July my mom had passed away mid April - I asked my soon to be husband "can we name the boat after my mom" and he said YES, being the good guy he is - never asked what part of her name etc. My mom was Dorothy Chrystal known as Dotty and in some areas Dotty C. So the boat became Dotty Sea - when we told our salesman he closed his office door to show us the choices of type face and there were all the choices - using the name DotSea DotSea DotSea - we all just stared - and David said "her mom was a very powerful woman when she was alive" and the salesman said "I don't think that's changed" My mom loved boats - grew up being on the water all the time - so I know she's really smiling down on Dotty Sea.

I went with MS Judy play on My Special JUDY and she is a teacher and the kids call her Ms Judy.

I named my boat after my dog Abbey. Her life was taken so rudely last summer and she was the sweetest dog anyone could ask for. I never named my boat before. Ever since I bought it, I wanted to name it something but could never come to grips with anything, finally about 30 days ago, I came up with "Miss Abbey" I miss her alot and before she died, she was starting to come around the boat and the water and getting used to everything. The wifee and I talked it over and we both like it. Now, we just have to settle on the lettering and all that. I can go up to 6 inches high and 36 inches across on the letters and be okay. I'm thinking either Navy Blue or Black letters. This will go on the Transom. Good topic btw....

Our 190 is named "Bonus Days". The significance is twofold-

A- Every day we get to spend on the water is a "bonus day" and

B- My wife's monthly bonus check pays for the boat and related expenses.

When we bought the boat I was in technology marketing. So, I named it after the key on the keyboard that gets you out of the place you don't want to be the :smt024 "Escape Key".

That's cute but our IT guys hasn't figured out how to make mine work :smt024
I press it all the time and yet I'm still here..............

Like MAKC I am a fan of Seinfeld also, so I came up with "Sponge Worthy" for my 180 sport. I am actually looking at ordering the lettering very soon, so if anyone has a recommendation I would appreciate it.

Funniest local boat name I have seen “Oar-gas-ummmmâ€

Worst “Mayday†I would never hail them, that’s for sure.

One name I’m considering for our next last boat “Our last boat IIâ€

No lie.....just saw a boat yesterday called " DICK WEED" with a picture of "weed" in between the two names.....now WHY would ANYONE put that on the back of their boat....worst part....it was on a Sea Ray....I forget which model...a late model 26' open boat......

"Laughing Place" -- from Song of the South -- a Disney thing (we're big Disney fans).

Everybody's got a laughing place
A laughing place to go
Take a frown, turn it upside down
And you'll find yours we know

Maybe because that's what he is

I wish we would have named our 200 sport, but we didn't. However, we did name the 220... 'Nice Aft'.

One thing we really liked about moving from the 200 sport to 220 select was the integrated swim platform. it gives the boat some really nice lines and a unique rear end. So, we said 'Nice Aft'.
