Wesley.....I don't get the "Yellow Fever" thing...is that some sort of Foot Ball joke?

I didn't get it either until I read this post, have to admit I wasn't thinking it had something to do with football, my mind was more in the gutter I guess.

after the spring we had.. first thing came to mind to me was all the pollen!

I've always liked the name "Tar Baby" named for an event in Joel Chandler Harris's tales of Uncle Remus where a Tar Baby is created so the character who grabbed it couldn't let go because tar is sticky and he was, therefore, captured.

If boating captures you as it has us, your boat will be your "Tar Baby"

Unfortunately, some people look upon that phrase as something different. Quoting Wikipedia "Though the term's provenance arose in African folklore, some now consider "tar baby" to have negative connotations revolving around pejorative images of African-Americans"
I can see why you would want to name your boat Tar Baby but unfortunately the racists have turned the name into something for which it was never intended.

I question that as well! My kids listen to AC/DC as well. That name could work for me as my new to me boat is now black!

Spouse is a computer programmer, I wanted to name the boat
Sea Plus Plus

We are both part Polish and thought about "Polish Sailboat"

But, we decided on Dunrowin. As in Done Rowing.

Black Pearl, Aquaholic, etc., are pretty common. Along with Pier Pressure, just add water. Find something that relates to you, your family or your job. Good luck!

Water rat,

My 200 Select is called "Sea++" for similar reasons to your thinking.

We were thinking well I was C Sharp (I'm a C# .Net developer) but the wife struck it down:

So we went for Morpheus which yea great character in the Matrix but it also is the God of Dreams

Morpheus - good name!

We both like gardening, so I was thinking that Mooring Glory would be a good name for us, too.

Also, The Last Boat II would be appropriate!

I feel your pain. Naming a boat is turning into the impossible. Anything I like the gf tells me to go jump in the lake and hers just arn't catchy enough. I wanted to do "Motorboatin SOB" (from Wedding Crashers  ) but that got shot down faster than a guest on a presidential hunting party. Of course she wanted her name on it.....but on a BR I want something fun. My boat is a reddish colour and the only name we can agree on is "Red Rocket" but the more I think of it the less I like it.

Lately I have been trying to think of something to do with geology (im a geologist) or something with chevy (both boat and tahoe are chevy powered  ) Any ideas?

Good luck

Graham

well what i did is name it something in a different language.. im italian so i named my boat "mi goumada" which means my girlfriend on the side. try something different.. people ask me all the time what "me goumada" means lol.

I named my boat after my Wife.
"She's Out Of Control"
You should have seen her face :smt013 after she saw it on the boat.
Dave

well you gotta know how an Italian would pronounce it.. its pronounced.... goomahd.... but these people read it like ... gooumada!... when they hear me say it they sometimes understand it by what they hear... and yea hbo.. but that word is used not so much on sopranos and when they say it people prabably dont know what it means anyway.. lol
