Boat Market ATTN Brokers

You’d think gas was a buck a gallon judging by all the boats out on weekends. Tomorrow we cross the Bay to Tolchester. Great band playing. Bar opens at noon. We will get there at 10:30am latest to be sure we can get a transient slip and a seat on the main deck in the shade. Place will be jammed.
What gas prices?
Like a dock mate commented... "When I am all in for about $20K with the slip, storage, fuel insurance, food etc for the summer, the added difference in fuel costs is not going to keep me from using the boat..."

My buddy just sold his 06 52 DB for full asking price didn’t even advertise it I think there’s still a market for well maint good big boats till the end of the year at least.
It also depends if the "asking price" is realistic.... Someone who understands the market and his boat, prices it correctly, will sell quickly. Others think all the fixtures are real gold and price it as such and it sits....

Agreed our boat sold to the 1st guy and the second guy was anxiously awaiting him to drop out. Buddies boat was priced perfect also. You can’t expect to make your retirement ones on selling your used boat as some are trying to do.

I think you will see some boats staying on the market longer and the price softening a bit.

How much tied to economy or when the fever pitch was driving the market 18 months ago did people build unrealistic expectations about selling a boat? There was a period where boats (and RV's) were selling at increasing price points. I think people got into the mindset of I saw one sell for $100 - so I am going to ask $110 - or - $120.

Talked to two different dockmasters this week who I know well enough they will shoot straight with me. Both said fuel volume is running same as previous years. People are still boating.
