Hey Team,
hope everyone is well. 2008 Amberjack 290. I had the genset pulled about 4 years ago; just couldn’t keep it running. It was mounted off-centerline to port, so I always assumed the slight list was due to weight imbalance. I have had a few slip members comment that my boat seems a bit more forward and to starboard. Fuel in both tanks is same amount. Fresh water is 1/4 full. Bilge has just a skim of water. Sump is dry. A/C compartment is dry. Windlass and chain locker dry. Cannot think of any more accessible areas. Nothing heavy in cabin on the starboard side. Any thoughts?

Thanks for taking the time!

I think you answered your own question. When the boat was built the weight/balance were calculated with the genset installed. When you took it out, that removed a few hundred pounds from the aft end of the boat. Where it used to lean to port, now it leans to stbd.

You might try putting some bricks or cement blocks in the space that used to be occupied by the genset.

Thanks Gofirstclass! I have made some pretty poor assumptions in boating, so I wanted to check for other opinions. I do like all the space created by the genset’s absence… but I have thought to put some sealed weights over on the side to balance it out. Appreciate the comeback!

A quick google search suggests a Beke 4.5kw generator is maybe 400lbs all-in? That's a lot of weight to not have back there...fully astern.
