Boat Light Parade

We also have a parade of lights on the CT River... We've had it every year for the last 8. We leave our marina and go up river to the Good Speed Opera house and bridge and then make a turn and come back down river...

I don't get it. How do you stay unwinterized to wait for these parades and sleep at night? There is also a boat parade in Annapolis in a few weeks. I was actually considering it, but was freaking out due to the deep freeze we had recently, so I quickly winterized. What's the secret?

Maybe we can rename the boat event to something other than parade......
The one (lighted boat display) I am supposed to be in is called Delta Reflections. Is that better?

+1 on that. I wouldn't trust a bilge heater.

I use my boat year around in Baltimore and rather than winterize I have an oil filled radiator in the bilge and a couple more in the cabin. I put swim noodles in the engine room vents to keep the heat in. I have an alarm that sends a text with the bilge temp each day and notifies me if the shore power goes out. Temp stays around 50 degrees.

Well, we won best overall for boats over 37' this year! I'll post some pictures later after I download them from my camera. We had a blast and love hearing the cheers from the kids lining the shore to watch.

Here are a few pictures. I a hoping friends took better ones.

Looks great! Glad you had a good time. I'm looking forward to going to the parade this weekend.

I most likely will be there

Where did you find the tree and bottle?

Borrowed the bottle and bought the tree on Amazon. I added some large ornaments that ended up looking like coconuts, some lighted presents under the tree, more net lighting to make the "island a bit larger and took the lights off of the bottle and lit it from outside. I wish I had some pictures and am trying to find some from spectators.

Dan, did you make it to the parade last night?

I did! We watched from willowberm's guest dock. We had a great time and loved seeing the lighted boats. Did you watch? Or was that you I thought I saw with the palm tree on the bow?

It was beautiful weather. Our group was 6 boats and we BBQ'd before the parade. I will post some pictures soon - after I get a new computer. Mine crashed last week.

Do you know who won? I saw one boat limping into willowberm late - they said they got stuck in the mud near Perry's.

I was the lead boat with the palm tree, how did it look? I thought everyone on the loop knew about the shoal outside of Perry's.......evidently not. I need a picture of my boat so please post if you or your group have any.

I thought your boat looked great! I got a good picture of it. Got the new computer tonight so I'll post a picture as soon as I get it up and running. (I took pictures on a digital camera so I need a computer to download them.)

Thanks Dan! Those are the only shots I have of her that night so far!
