I did a search and didn't see anything.

Wondering if anyone here uses a lift for the sport boats. We have a place on a creek that goes out the ohio river that has extremely stable water levels especially during the boating season. The lift would sit on the creek bottom.

Our camp is only 35 miles from my house so if the boat was on a lift I think I would get to use it even more.

Here are a bunch of new lifts at fairly reasonable prices

They are selling the 6000 lb lift on ebay for $3850 w/free shipping.

What are some thing to consider? What types of lifts? What brands?

Gary,

I kept my 230 on a Hydrohoist up until a few years ago. Great system. My model requried a slip with fingers on both sides for the attatch points and needed a min. of about five feet of water.
Try www.hydrohoist.com

Things to consider. Depth of slip required for operation, having metal components of the lift below waterline vs above the waterline, dockside power, lift capacity on mine was 6,000 lbs., ablity to upgrade lift capacity if you get bigger boatitis, sufficient bunk support, ease of operation, new vs. used and etc.

Let me clarify a few things. Hydrohoist won't work for me the water is not deep enough. The lift I need will sit on the bottom of the creek. My dock extends out about 42 feet where the water dept is at least 5 1/2 ft. It is a low slope bottom and maybe drops 1 ft every 10 ft. I have attached a picture to give you an idea of what I'm dealing with.

Wish,

A couple of other suggestions try Alumavator (Sp) and sunlifts.
Also a drive on stlye lift may work for you as well. I believe Hrydrohoist has them for waverunners, not sure about a boat.

Alternatively, you could drive 4 posts next to your dock and install a cradle lift system.

So you're saying you need a shallow water lift? I have a Polylift, but it is in 40 feet of water. I do know that Polylift makes shallow water lifts and I'm pretty sure they would work in 5 feet of water. They aren't cheap though.

I have a floating lift with (2) shallow tanks and it just lifts my 20 footer (4000lbs) but needs at least 5-6 feet of water. Mine is a

lift and only needs to be attached to a head pier at the bow.

Since your water levels are stable at about 5 feet you may look at a fixed ShoreStation type lift. Make sure it's placed on a stable base as they tend to settle over time. You may find a used one in a local shopper classified near the lake.

I enjoy mine a great deal as I don't have to hassle with trailering and tend to use the boat more.

I do have to have a lift that sits on the bottom. I haven't been able to find one locally. There have been some on ebay for a reasonable price. Anyone heard of Summit boat lifts?
