Apparently, my boat insurance company (Windsor Mt Joy) requires a boat survey every 5 years For my 2005 sea ray 42 Sedan.

Looking for a recommendation for a insurance surveyer in the ocean county NJ area ..

Appreciated...

Many insurance companies now request "self survey" every 3-5 years. That sounds excessive on a 2005 boat.

What's wrong with a good survey every five years?
You might find a survey provides useful data to help maintain your asset and avoid major future costs.
They are all good processes.

Once you have owned a boat for some time, and especially if you do your own work, you might be disappointed with what a surveyor doesn't find. I agree that survey every five years as a requirement for insurance should not be necessary. I live in the are you boat in, and there are few good surveyor in the area, but my information is dated... The last guy I used is probably dead or retired. I would recommend asking your marina mechanic, or switch insurance companies... I use Geico through Boat US... Before that I used Progressive... Neither required a survey...
