My newly acquired boat (6 weeks) is still listed for sale on Yacht World. In addition, there is another boat for sale at the same price using all of my boat's pictures (except one different one for the helm), and it's in a different state. That one has a sale pending.

I figure the sale's rep is really lazy, or efficient, depending on how you look at it. Someone on here wrote that they are known for the "Bait and Switch." Maybe they just do it in pictures.

The one thing I can't figure out is what 8.1L Horizon engines are. The "L" is written in a couple of different places. Of course, since it's my boat pictured, the engines have "S's" on them.

That is the down side of up loading pictures on the internet. Someone can use them. :smt009

A letter telling him not to use your pictures might be a good idea with a follow up phone call.

Good thought, but you don't own the photos and have no leverege.

It sometimes takes a while for a broker to remove a yachtworld listing....its just a maintenance issue. This gets complicated by the fact the the broker may be slow to react because he getting calls on your boat. His answer is we sold that one but I have several more to show you..........he may or may not.

There are a lot of good reputable brokers out there but, like any industry, there are a few of the less than scrupulous dead beats who find it easier to pirate someone else's photos and use then to switch a customer to a boat he can sell than it is to go work for a living.

You have already changed the name......I saw the new name at Bert and Steve's last week.....so, go ahead and transfer the Sea Ray, Mercruiser and generator warranties, go boating and don't lose sleep over something you cannot change.

ylwjacket - That's what my wife said. I don't know why I didn't think of it. I just found it interesting because in the ad for my boat, they listed them as 8.1S Horizons, which is correct. In the ad for the other boat, they listed them as 8.1L Horizons.

Just to clear up confusion, they are not my photos. They are the broker's photos of my boat.
