boat anchor chain

I have a 1996 Sundancer 370. It doesn't have any chain on the lead and I don't think chain will go thru the motor.I has about 100 feet of rope.
Does anyone have any knowledge.

If your windlass doesn't allow for a partial chain rode then you are stuck with all rope or you are gonna have to get a new windlass.

Check with the manufacturer. You may be able to alter your current model.

Every '96 I've seen has the Good windlass, which is a rope only. Depending on the design of your pulpit, you may be able to have a section of chain between the anchor and the windlass capstan. There are lots of 370 DA owners here that can chime in.

100 ft of rope will give to safe anchor depth of 14.28 feet using a 7 to 1 scope. As long as your in 14 ft ,chain is an option.

That be more like 10ft water depth @ 7 to 1.
