Hi Everyone,
Have recently read all of the Blue Sea Add A Battery Feedback, and have decided to add it into our 2007 220 Sundeck.
Here's what I'm thinking:
1.) Replace existing battery with a cranking battery. This will be my "engine battery" and will connect to the switch via the existing 2/0 cable from positive terminal. I will leave the Smartcraft harness, Bilge Pump, and Radio memory leads connected directly to the battery.
2.) Install a 2nd Deep Cycle battery that has some starting capability (for emergencies). I will connect the "house circuits" (ie everything after the 50A breaker) to this battery.
3.) Install the Blue Sea Battery combiner circuit.
My questions are:
a.) Is it OK to use 4 gauge for the following? connecting the grounds b/w battery #1 and #2, connecting the positive lead of my house battery to the switch, and connecting the positive terminal of each battery to the Blue Sea combiner?
b.) Where is a good place to tap into the "start signal" terminal, given that it appears near impossible to access the coil? Is this a necessary feature of the Blue Sea add combiner? I have the 350 MAG DTS engine.
c.) Any other tips about this install?
Trying to save a few bucks as the dealer quoted $550 to install.
