Blue fluid in bilge

I’m in the process of buying a 2008 330 Sundancer with 8.1l mercs. The boat was recently sunmerized and after a trial run there was blue fluid in the bilge. It didn’t feel oily and didn’t have a oil smell. Could it be left over a antifreeze from the winterization process? Fresh water boat with fresh water cooling. I’ve only ever seen the pink rv antifreeze.

Welcome aboard CSR Rob. You should complete your user profile with your location as many questions can be answered better knowing that info. Blue anti freeze (-100f/-73c) is sometimes used in colder climates or when an owner is being extra precautious so that maybe the case but you never know.
Once again, welcome aboard.

Thanks! Updated details. Idaho. It gets cold but certainly not close to anything in the negatives. His would it end up in the bilge? During the wintertization process are they placing antifreeze in the bilge? Pumps?

Not necessarily but could have been put in the bilge in the process of winterizing as it's always a good idea to run some through the bilge pumps to purge the pumps and hoses of any water that may freeze.

Maybe it's my screen but it looks more green to me. If it is closed cooling could it be a slow leak of 50/50 green AF from the system?

This is not a recommendation, but a quick taste test will tell you if its antifreeze. Many marinas up here in Michigan use the mercruiser blue antifreeze for winterizing. It can end up in the bilge if they were winterizing through your strainers that are pictured. BTW, your bilge looks really well kept!

Thanks for all the responses! I was able to confirm it was indeed anti freeze.

Looks like antifreeze to me. And put some shoes on, or booties, when in the bilge :) You will track everything you step on all over the boat.
