Block Island Get together June 5 & 6

Well my fiancée managed to get June 5th off from work. I can pretty much take any day off I want becuase I work 7 days a week during the winter and Im long overdo a day off. Weather permiting we will be there. Guys do we have to make reservations at champlins for this? Any more details? Should we have people from my area (Long Island Sound) meet up at some point and cruise up together? Lets get planning!
 
I have been informed that we have other commitments those dates.

My lawyer advised me to put a clause in the pre-nup agreement that would prohibit these "other commitments" during boating season, but I did not listen.
 
I have been dying to take a trip to Block Island, little nervous though. Just bought a 2005 280DA and live in West Babylon, Long Island. Would love to hear if any others have done a trip from there?!!? I believe its about 100 miles.

I can tell you one thing... if I make the trip, the beers better be cold by the time i hit dock! :)
 
WetPaint, I guess you can put our name on the "list". Still a little tentative on making this trip, but what the hell! Weather is going to be good, beer cold and food hot. Looking forward to it.

So you come through Woods Hole? I think Thur. might be a little early for me to leave, but if it looks like it I might reach out and follow you. I havn't looked at any charts yet, but it seems like a straight shot from Buzzards Bay. Looking forward to it.
 
Dave....I will be shooting over on Thursday and will be at Falmouth around 5:00 PM.......I will probably shoot through Quicks hole.........Depends on weather, seas, etc.....

It sounds like a familiar story - We are taking possession of an 05 280DA pending a successful survey - We are thinking very serious about this trip. We are a bit east of WB.

we stoped at plymouth breawers marina were going to stay another night wont make vinyard this time think positive.
 
Do any of you guys have any recomendations for a hotel that is near champlins for that weekend? I have heared horror stories about Champlins hotel, dont care to get into details but at $295 a night I would rather sleep in a ditch! My parents are going to be along for the weekend. Im going to be staying on the boat with my fiancee through the weekend but my parents need something better!
